PAL Winter Rec Basketball league GR. 3-8
Join the PAL Rec Youth Basketball League today! Boys and girls have fun playing basketball while learning the fundamental of the game. We strive to provide a rich environment that fosters development of basketball fundamentals while also advancing skills in teamwork, discipline, friendship, and sportsmanship. The youth basketball league is for beginners to experienced players who wish to learn while playing in a recreational atmosphere. Volunteer head coaches needed, and volunteer assistant coaches welcomed.
Due to our high number of registrants/participants in recreation basketball and the complexity of organizing the league, we cannot take 'specific' team and player requests.

Regular Registration: $199
Late Fee: $25 applied starting on October 17

To receive a full refund for the PAL Rec Basketball Program, you must EMAIL your request to Basketball@parsippanypal.org NO LATER THAN November 12. All refunds include $10 processing fee per registration.
All requests summited after this date will NOT receive a refund.
Evaluations
In order to create fair and competitive teams this season, we will be hosting player evaluations. Hold the date below as each division has been assigned a date and time based on the number of children registered. Children will only attend ONE date/timeslot.

Games will begin in early January & run through March.

Parents/Guardians,
Emails went out today 12/6 to all coaches with their roster information. Please allow 1-2 days for your coach to contact with you. If you do not hear from a coach by Monday, 12/11. Please email us at basketball@parsippanypal.org and we will get you in touch.
NOTE: We still need 1 Girls 5/6 coach & 2 Girls 7/8 coaches. If you know anyone who can help us out, please contact us ASAP.

Parents/Guardians,
We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We are in the final stages of completing the teams along with coach assignments. We are still in need of a few more coaches so if anyone is interested, please contact us to discuss.
We are hoping to finalize the team/coach assignments this weekend. Our hope is to start notifying the coaches, next week, of their team roster to allow them to start to contact their players with practices beginning the week of 12/11. Please be patient during this process as it may take a day or two after a coach receives a roster to contact you. Our hope is by the end of the next week, all players hear from a coach or us regarding the upcoming season.

Hello Again Basketball Parents!
And now let us officially welcome you to another exciting Season of Recreation Basketball at the Parsippany PAL! We are so happy to have you and it looks like our program, including our little ones (K-2nd players), will edge close to 500 total players this Season...WOW! Let's get ready to play ball!
PAL Rec Basketball registrations are now officially closed. The PAL Team will now be busy collecting Head and Assistant Coaches and working towards assigning them to Teams. Once all Coaches are assigned, we will continue to ensure all Teams are ready and full. WE STILL NEED Volunteer COACHES in almost EVERY DIVISION. We will not be able to start play in any division without ALL Coaches assigned. Please help to source Volunteer Coaches - Friends, Family, Neighbors, etc - anyone looking forward to giving back to the community and helping to Coach a youth Team this Season.
TEAM ASSIGNMENTS:
All PAL Basketball evaluations are now complete. Our priority is to place children on teams according to their evaluations. During evaluations, players are rated based on ability, performance, and experience on the court. This gives the PAL a level-setting opportunity to spread the talent across divisions – to ensure Teams are as fair and consistent as possible. Although not an exact science, with 375+ players in a large league, this gives us the ability to work towards standardizing teams and providing the most enjoyable experience. There will be no player/coach requests - it would be impossible for the PAL to align all players with requests. If your child did not attend the evaluations, don’t worry! It will not impact your child’s registration. Rec Basketball is a great opportunity to learn about 'team' play, meet new players/friends and socialize through sport!
Teams should be formed on/around 11/27 and you will be notified thereafter by your Head Coach. Once all Teams are formed and Head Coaches have reached out, we will begin practices during either the 1st or 2nd week of December. Practice Times and locations will vary based on facility availability. Each team will be provided with 1-2 practices per week and a maximum of one hour in duration. Game schedules will be provided during mid-December and games will begin during the 1st week of January. Games will be scheduled at the Parsippany PAL (33 Baldwin Road, Parsippany, NJ 07054).
Thank you for your support as we plan through the pre-season. A more detailed and full 'Welcome Email' will be released after the Thanksgiving holiday.
