Volunteer Basketball Coaches wanted
Volunteer Basketball Coaches - We NEED YOU! Volunteering to be a Head or Assistant Coach during our Rec Basketball Season is such a rewarding opportunity. It allows you to give back to the community, while helping to develop our youth.
As a volunteer basketball coach, you will host 1 practice and coach 1 game each week along with assisting in the drafting of players on to team prior to the start of the season. We love coaches with some basketball knowledge/experience, but if you are willing to volunteer, we will find a team and a home for you! The PAL with ensure you are equipped with supplies, equipment, the rules, and everything you need to coach your team. The PAL is here to support you with any questions or opportunities that arise during the Season. We aim to ensure every team has at least 2 coaches - 1 Head Coach, and 1 Assistant Coach. Volunteer Coaches are the foundation and backbone of our Winter Recreation Basketball program and we absolutely need you (Parsippany's youth needs you!) to operate a successful basketball season. We will be issuing a $49 registration refund for 'Head Coaches' ONLY at the completion of the season. To receive the refund, you must be a head coach in our league, be in good standing regarding the coaches conduct and complete the season. The refund will be for 1 child only UNLESS you 'head coach' more than 1 team. Any questions, please email us at basketball@parsippanypal.org.
Coaches are required to be at the evaluations for all players in the division you will be coaching in. We will then be hosting 'DRAFT NIGHTS' for specific divisions in person and others virtually. A coach representative from each team will be required to attend draft night. A moderator will work through the draft with coaches to create fair and equal teams to be best of everyone's ability. The PAL moderator will have final approval of all teams drafted.

Practices will begin in early December.
Games will begin in early January.
